Former Young Republican Leaders Endorse Mason

On Tuesday, former Young Republican Leaders endorsed Jonathan Mason in his bid for District 30 House of Representatives.

A press release in the form of a letter follows.

Jonathan Mason will play an essential role in the Hamilton County Delegation next session in Nashville. Having served as the chairman of the Young Republicans from 2013-2015, he is joined today with the endorsement of former Hamilton County Young Republican officers that see Jonathan as fit to not only represent the people of District 30, but also lead the next generation of Republicans to lead our party.

As the only candidate that fought liberal Obama-era policies, Jonathan Mason will fight in Nashville to defend conservative principles that he has always championed. He will stand for a better education system for all Tennesseans. As a small business owner alongside his wife, Rachael, he will fight to pull back on burdensome laws that stifle small business growth.

With two young children attending public schools, Jonathan Mason is poised to see and understand what is taught in our schools every day. He holds the integrity and temperament needed to serve in such a capacity as State Representative. Jonathan Mason will fight for property rights, family values, and continue Tennessee on a strong path of fiscal conservative principles. We stand behind Jonathan to not only represent District 30, but to also represent all Republicans in the effort and pursuits of businessmen and statesmen.

About Dick Cook

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. Dick worked for the Chattanooga Free-Press and the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 22 years. Free-Press Sports Editor Roy Exum plucked him out of production in 1989 and gave him a job as a sports reporter. Dick covered everything from prep sports to the whitewater events on the Ocoee River for the 1996 Olympics. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
