Fire damaged a house on Astor Lane early Monday evening.
According to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, firefighters were called to 724 Astor Ln., at 6:35 p.m. Upon arrival, everyone inside the house had safely made it outside and heavy smoke and fire could be seen coming from the rear of the structure.
Chief Williams said that firefighters made an aggressive interior attack, locating and extinguishing the fire, which had extended into the attic.
Mutual Aid was requested from Chattanooga Ladder 13, Hamilton County Rescue (rehab), Hamilton County Emergency Management (Air Trailer), to the scene and Catoosa County Engine 7 to standby at our station for any additional calls for service.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, Chief Williams said.
