An early morning fire damaged a duplex on McBrien Road, Friday.
According to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, first responders were dispatched to 1120 McBrien Road at 2:44 a.m. When firefighters arrived they found smoke coming from a duplex. Crews went inside the apartment and located a second-story room that was ablaze. The fire was contained to that one room and extinguished.
“Great job to the Green Shift and all that were involved,” Chief Williams said.
Chief Williams said no injuries were reported in the incident that caused about $20,000 worth of damage to the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
