Today is Election Day across the state of Tennessee.
The polls are open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. To cast a ballot, voters need to show a valid photo identification, such as a drivers license of photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of safety.
There are three polling places in East Ridge: The American Legion Post 95 at 3329 Ringgold Road; The East Ridge Community Center next to City Hall on Tombras Avenue; and the East Ridge Methodist Church at 1601 Prater Road.
In the East Ridge Municipal election, four candidates are vying for two City Council positions. Those candidates are; incumbent Jacky Cagle, Jeff Ezell, Robert Gilreath, and David Tyler.
Qualified write-in candidate Dick Cook is challenging incumbent Brian Williams in the Mayoral race.
Patricia Cassidy is running unopposed as she seeks her third term as East Ridge Municipal Court Clerk.
