The East Ridge High School boys soccer team got its District 8-AA schedule off on the right foot with an 8-0 shutout of Sequatchie County, Tuesday at Camp Jordan Park.
The Pioneers (5-0-1) out-shot the Indians, 18-2 and put the ball in the net five times in the first half. Bryan Paz-Macario and Rijad Kazic scored twice, while Adam Adem, Luis Padilla and Zhubin Salih were credited with scores.
Kazic also had two assists. Abdallah Albobsairy, Adem, Bryan Alonzo, Erik Lopez and Zhubin Salih also picked up assists in the game.
East Ridge will play in a tournament at Cleveland High School on Friday and Saturday. The Pioneers will take on McMinn County at 4:30 on Friday. On Saturday, East Ridge will play Lincoln County at 10 a.m. before taking on Signal Mountain at 5 p.m.
