Both drivers from Hixson Motorsports, based in Soddy Daisy Tennessee, are gearing up for short track racing at its finest this weekend. The ARCA Racing Series – Presented by Menards is headed to one of the shortest tracks on the schedule of any National racing series for the running of the Shore Lunch 250 at Elko Speedway.
Eric Caudell, driver of the Hixson Motorsports Honoring America’s Warriors No. 2 Chevrolet, and Bobby Dale Earnhardt, Driver of the Hixson Motorsports Circle S Ranch Neon Lizard Creative No. 3 Chevrolet, are anticipating an exciting time behind the wheel. At the same time, both drivers are looking forward to putting a rough outing at Toledo Speedway behind them according to Crystal Bates of Hixson Motorsports.
“We were excited about our chances for both teams – but we had an overheating issue with Eric Caudell’s No. 2 Chevrolet,” Bates said about the prior race weekend. “We worked hard through the whole race – Eric really pushed the car for everything he could get even though we finished several laps down. Eric really came through… to finish as good as he did!”
Bates continued to praise her other driver, Bobby Dale Earnhardt,as the grandson of legendary driver Dale Earnhardt Sr was making his ARCA Racing Series debut.
“Bobby Dale started fantastic! He and Eric both were looking good!” Bates said of her two drivers as she politely recalled the wreck that effectively ended the No. 3’s night. “But, a run in with another car… caused Bobby to finish 21st… really damaged the back end of the No. 3.”
From the Driver’s Seat
No. 2 – Eric Caudell: “I am looking forward to getting past the engine issues we have experienced the last few races and doing some gritty short track racing at Elko. I’m very proud to have Honoring America’s Warriors on the Hood of the No. 2 as the organization does so much towards honoring our hero’s and healing our warriors. Elko is an exciting track and should be a great show for the fans in the stands and those watching on TV.”
No. 3 – Bobby Dale Earnhardt:I’m excited to be back behind the wheel of the No. 3 Circles S Ranch, Neon Lizard Creative, Hixson Motorsports Chevrolet at Elko Motor speedway. We had a good run in Toledo until we got caught up in a late race spin causing some mechanical issues and ended up having to pull behind the wall ending our day. I couldn’t thank the Hixson Motorsports team enough for a great car that weekend and am excited to see what they have for me for Elko. We are planning on moving on to Pocono next weekend pending sponsorship so anyone that is interested in a great business marketing opportunity go visit our website www.earnhardtshearerracing.com for more information.”
