You can purchase fireworks in East Ridge legally. You just can’t shoot them off within the city limits without potential consequences as that action is illegal.
Of course, this ordinance is largely ignored as the discharging of fireworks in East Ridge is common practice; none more than on major holidays like July 4th, Memorial Day, New Year’s Eve, Groundhog Day, Mother’s Day, Veteran’s Day, President’s Day, et al.
East Ridge Police Chief Stan Allen issued the following press release on Monday afternoon.
With the July 4th holiday coming this weekend, the East Ridge Police Department wishes to remind citizens that the shooting of fireworks within the city limits is illegal. Anyone found to be shooting fireworks is subject to being issued a citation.
