Kamala didn’t get the questions in advance. It’s a presidential debate, of course the questions would be about abortion, the economy, inflation, immigration, and foreign affairs. Her ease with the questions isn’t her having the questions in advance, it’s her being prepared for a debate.
What did Trump think he was showing up for? A debate on theoretical physics? He was the President of the United States for four years, you think he would have known.
It’s unfathomable to me the amount of people who will go as far as saying that she had the questions, or she had an ear piece instead of the truth. One of these people in the debate studied up. The other is very well known as hating debate prep and prefers to be casual.
One of these people wants to give his rich friends extra tax breaks. What does he want to give you? Well no tax on tips and no tax on overtime. Does he want to address the fundamental and underlying issue that the minimum wage for service workers who gets tips being $2.13 an hour is too low.. nope. It’s a side show because the truth is most tipped workers aren’t paying taxes on those tips anyway. It’s not really helping you it just sounds good. And solving the actual problem of the shrinking middle class and ability of workers to earn a livable wage is far beyond the skill set of a man known for screwing workers over.
Overtime? Is a nice one he just added, and it has always been unfairly taxed. But, again it does nothing to address the fact that the American worker needs to bust their ass working far too many hours for far too little pay to put food on the table for their kids.
We need a president who knows how important small businesses are. Someone who knows how vital to the economy they are. Someone who’s gonna encourage them to grow. We need someone who’s gonna help the middle class grow and help people lift themselves up.
Trickle down doesn’t work. Giving rich people more money just makes them richer. Any rich person who has a good idea or wants to make a good product is gonna do that because they are rich and they fundamentally want to be richer. They are self incentivized and do not need additional access to capital.
When folks in the middle class have more money what do they do? They spend that money. They get their kids new clothes, they replace the roof on their house, they enjoy pizza night, they take in a movie or check out the new store selling candy from around the world. They are the engine that drives the economy and their increase in demand for goods and services spurs further job growth, increases wages and puts more money into that engine.
So yeah we gotta choice.
Trump – born a millionaire. Used his rich and powerful leverage to screw over workers and small businesses for years. Gave a tax cut that lasts forever to the rich and one that expired to everyone else. He owns a lot of that housing that’s unaffordable. He cares more about flashy one liners than actually knowing what’s going on.
Harris – grew up middle class. Fought for people her whole life. She was part of an administration that has done more for labor since the FDR administration. She wants to continue to help labor, wants to increase the child tax credit, wants to give $25k to help people buy a home. She wants to give people larger tax breaks to help start more small businesses. She wants to do more to make housing affordable. She understands the issues well enough to be called a cheater.
