Announces Department of Development Services to Aid Long-Term Planning
County Mayor Weston Wamp has appointed two new directors in the county’s division of Public Works and a new director in the Hamilton County Health Department. All three appointments were unanimously approved by the County Commission on Wednesday.
“Since taking office, it has been a privilege to work alongside the many talented department heads across Hamilton County general government, and I am confident that these three individuals are part of a new generation of leadership who will maintain the county’s high standards of public service,” said Mayor Weston Wamp. “I’m particularly looking forward to the impact of the new Department of Development Services, which will greatly expand the county’s long-term planning capacity as unincorporated Hamilton County continues to experience unprecedented growth.”
Wendy Strange, BSN, RN, has been appointed Director of Clinical Services at the Hamilton County Health Department after serving as a Senior Public Health Nurse and the Support Service Program Manager at the Health Department. Strange began her 15 year career with the Health Department as a Pediatric Nurse before serving as Manager of the Pediatric Clinic for five years. As Director of Clinical Services, Strange will oversee the largest department within the Health Department, which serves tens of thousands of citizens annually through four clinics.
Nathan Janeway has been appointed to serve as the county’s first Director of Development Services. This is a new department created within the existing Public Works budget, which has been restructured by Mayor Wamp and Todd Leamon, Administrator of Public Works. Janeway comes to the county from the private sector where he has been a Supply Chain Supervisor and Planner with two of Hamilton County’s largest employers. Under Janeway’s leadership, the Department of Development Services will be tasked with facilitating and planning for responsible growth in unincorporated Hamilton County.
Brandon Mauracher has been appointed Director of Highway Maintenance where he has served as Superintendent and Inspection Supervisor since 2020. Prior to joining the Highway Department, Mauracher spent 12 years in public works with the city and county of Denver, Colorado, where he was a manager and Chief Inspector. Mauracher will be responsible for maintaining the county’s 880 miles of roads and right of ways as well as the county’s vehicle fleet.
