Hamilton County Parks and Recreation is thrilled to announce the grand opening of ‘Dog Paddle Park’ at Chester Frost Park on March 18. This new off-leash dog park will provide a dedicated space for dogs and their owners to enjoy a safe, fun, and social environment in one of the county’s most beloved parks.
The grand opening celebration will take place at 1:00 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by county officials, parks and recreation representatives, and local pet enthusiasts. Following the ceremony, guests and their furry friends are invited to explore the park and enjoy a take-home souvenir to commemorate the day.
“Dog Paddle Park is an exciting addition to Chester Frost Park,” said Karen Shostak, Deputy Director of Hamilton County Parks and Recreation. “The park is more than just a recreational area; it’s a place where our community can come together to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and make lasting memories.”

Dog Paddle Park features separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs, agility equipment, shaded seating for pet owners, and nearby water access where dogs can splash and play. The park’s design prioritizes safety and accessibility, ensuring a welcoming space for all visitors with free on-site parking.
“Chester Frost Park is a staple not only for residents of District 3 but for all of Hamilton County and beyond,” said District 3 Commissioner Ken Smith. “This project reflects our commitment to making Hamilton County a place where families–including their four-legged friends–have access to quality outdoor spaces.”
Hamilton County encourages residents and visitors to celebrate and enjoy this new recreational asset. The free event is open to the public, with attendees encouraged to bring their leashed dogs and follow park guidelines for a safe and enjoyable experience.
