City trucks are out brining roads in East Ridge in preparation for a winter weather event.
Officials said Friday that the trucks are first doing hilly roads and will then proceed to flatter terrain.
City Manager Scott Miller said that city trucks are waiting for “the first snowflake to fall” and then will begin spreading sand and salt on major roadways to facilitate motorists.
The local forecast is calling for a 20 percent chance of snow in our immediate area for Friday. Temperatures tonight are expected to reach the low 20s and are expected to take a plunge into the teens on Saturday and Sunday.
