UPDATE: This from the City of East Ridge on Wednesday morning … Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts and other circumstances, the Census Kickoff event scheduled for Friday, February 21 at East Ridge Community Center has been cancelled. The need for the upcoming Census and its related impact has been highly visible for the last couple of months, thanks to the efforts focused on Hamilton County and the City of East Ridge. Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett will be the featured guest speaker at an area “Census Kickoff,” Friday at 6 pm. at the Community Center.
The event is being hosted by East Ridge Mayor Brian Williams, Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke, and Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger.
The event will provide information about the 2020 Census which begins on April 1.
Other guest speakers include June Iljana of the U.S. Census Bureau, Tim Kuhn, of the Tennessee Data Center, and LaTisha Turner, Partnership Specialist with the U.S. Census.
The East Ridge Community Center is at 1515 Tombras Ave. The public is invited.
