Catholic downed Lookout Valley Middle, 14-0, on the road Tuesday in Middle School Baseball.
The win improved Catholic to 15-4 on the season. The Catholic team will try to close out its regular season with a win, as it hosts CSLA on Thursday. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
Justin Allen was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Aaron Bouchard went 3-for-3, while Silas Wesson went 3-for-4 with a two RBI.
Four pitchers combined for the four-inning shutout. Justin Allen pitched the first inning giving up a hit; Cale Nausley came on in the second retired the side on strike-outs; Charlie Hunt took the hill in the third and struck out two; Jake Thomas came on in the fourth inning to mop up. All told, Catholic pitching combined for nine strike-outs and allowed only two hits.
Playing third base, Allen put a bow on the win initiating a double play by forcing the runner at third then making a toss to a stretching Hunt at first.
