Catholic downed Grace, 7-5, in the first round of the ISC Tournament at Boyd-Buchanan, Friday afternoon.
Catholic, the number five seed, will advance to play top-seeded Silverdale on Monday. Game time is 5 p.m. at the Silverdale diamond.
Justin Allen went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a triple. Henry Osborne was 2-for-4 on the night and knocked in three runs. Anthony Vaughn went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an intentional walk.
Cale Nausley was pitched six innings, giving up four runs on five hits. Nausley did not allow a baserunner in the second of fourth innings.
Defensive standouts: Cooper Campbell made the game-winning third out catch in the bottom of the seventh. Aaron Bouchard ran down a pair of fly balls in right for the first and third outs in the fourth inning. Charlie Hunt was steady at first base, as 10 putouts were recorded by the infield.
