Body of Missing Woman Found

The body of a woman reported missing on April 16 was discovered in Meigs County on Monday evening.

According to a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s deputies found Geneva Atkins’ body in her vehicle near the 22000 block of Highway 58, just of North of Decatur. Initial findings show that her truck left the roadway, crossed a field, and came to rest about 200 yards away from the road after striking a tree line.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is Investigating the incident.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community and the local media for their assistance in helping to locate Mrs. Atkins.
