According to our friends at Newschannel9, A 4-month-old baby boy is in critical condition and the state of Tennessee is investigating an East Ridge day care where workers found the child unresponsive.
An East Ridge Police report says workers at the Child Care Network on Bennett Road found the infant asleep on the floor on his stomach on November 9th.
Three minutes later, the report says the workers went back to check on him and found him unresponsive, and performed CPR.
As of Wednesday, a hospital spokesperson says the 4-month-old is in critical condition at Children’s Hospital.
The State Department of Human Services says they are investigating the incident and the daycare workers involved are now on a safety plan.
According to state licensing rules, babies 12-months-old and younger should be placed in a crib, on their backs, to sleep.
Employees at the day care say they couldn’t talk about what happened, and would pass on our crew’s information to someone who would be able to comment. We are still waiting to hear back from them.
