The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”
April 19 Day Shift
6105 Ringgold Road (burglary):
The store manager at Popeye’s discovered an open door and window this morning while opening the restaurant. The cash drawer, and a total of $100 was missing. No signs of forced entry were located, and CID responded to the scene. (21-005348)
1417 St Thomas Street (theft):
A woman was staying with a friend at the Motel 6. She told police when she woke up her friend had brought a black male into the room known only as “Baby J.” Several hours later the woman discovered her phone had been stolen. She will provide police with a serial number at a later date. (21-005367)
1050 Wynnwood Road (aggravated burglary):
Police were contacted about a suspicious person walking in the area. Suspected stolen property was found in a small, wooded area behind 1038 S. Seminole Drive, which was found to have an open window and open door. Police surrounded the residence, searched the residence, and found Casey Johnson hiding in a small attic crawlspace. Johnson was captured with the assistance of a CPD K9. Johnson was subsequently charged with an auto burglary at 1036 S. Seminole Drive and a residential burglary at 1070 S. Seminole Drive. Night Shift
3400 Lisa Dr (Evading 21-005375):
Police conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Gleason Dr. The driver, Eric Clark, accelerated into the cul-de sac where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A front seat female passenger, Destiny Dawson, also fled on foot. Dawson was captured near Betty Lane and South Seminole. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and evading on foot. Two other passengers who were detained with the vehicle were released at the scene. Clark was found to have multiple warrants out of several jurisdictions.
Clark was encountered a short time later by police. He fled once again on foot and was apprehended with the aid of a Taser. He was taken into custody for evading, possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous traffic charges.
6650 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-005390):
Eddie Franklin was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana after officers on patrol smelled the odor coming from his vehicle. His passenger, Lacey Wixom, was taken into custody for possession of cocaine.
1416 St Thomas St (Misdemeanor Citation 21-005391):
Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at this location. Officers made contact with Juanita Pope, an elderly female, in a crashed Honda Accord. Mrs. Pope stated she had crashed somewhere on Brainerd Road. ERPD checked with Chattanooga who stated they had no record of a crash on Brainerd Road during the time frame Pope stated. She had driven her vehicle to this location in hopes of getting a ride. As officers spoke with Pope it became increasingly obvious she was possibly impaired. She was issued a misdemeanor citation for drug paraphernalia and then, for her safety, was transported to a friend’s house for the evening.
1417 St Thomas St (Arrest 21-005399):
Police responded to the Motel 6 on report of an unconscious party. Police made contact with Patrick Watts in a red Dodge Charger. Watts was asleep when police first observed him with a bag containing suspected methamphetamine in his lap. Officers removed Watts from the vehicle and another bag of methamphetamine was observed in the driver’s seat. Watts was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine for resale (157.6 grams), possession of heroin (2.63 grams), possession of alprazolam (15 pills), possession of crack cocaine (6.6 grams), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Watts was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. Police also seized $1,024 US currency and a 2015 Dodge Charger.
