Police charged a man and a woman with a litany of charges after they allegedly robbed a man after luring him to a motel room. Kane Jacques Malone, 21 of a Nautica Way address in Chattanooga, and Sandra Jacqueline Henderson, 27, of a Reeves Avenue address in Chattanooga, are both charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Burglary of an Auto, Fraudulent use of a Credit Card and Theft under $500. They are due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on
According to an affidavit of complaint, the victim told officers that earlier this month he went to a room at the America’s Best Value Inn on Camp Jordan Parkway to meet a woman about a massage. The woman who came to the door was Henderson, the report states. Once the victim was inside the room, Malone stepped out with a pistol, approached the victim and took $100 cash and a debit card from his wallet. The man also allegedly took the victim’s cell phone. The report states that Malone locked him in the room against his will. Malone stayed with him in the room while Henderson went to the victim’s car and took a pistol from the glove box.
The report states that Malone used the victim’s debit card to make a purchase of $707.92 at a store in Hamilton Place Mall. The report states that the store provided video surveillance images of Malone making the purchase.
The couple are being held on a $35,000 bond and are due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Jan. 26.
_ 800 Germantown Rd.: Police were dispatched to Germantown Road at Frawley Road on Jan. 20, on a rolling disorder. According to an affidavit of complaint, dispatched told the officer that the female caller, later identified as Donna Dawson, had called 911 saying that she was a passenger in a silver Honda SUV and that the male driver was refusing to let her out of the vehicle. Officers located the Honda in the 800 block of Germantown and the male driver flagged down police with his hands, the report states. When the car was stopped, officers separated the man and Dawson and tried to figure out what was happening. The report states that when officers spoke with Dawson, they detected a strong odor of alcohol and that her eyes were bloodshot and glazed over. Dawson told the officer that she got into a verbal argument with her boyfriend over a grocery cart. She said that the male driver, her boyfriend, was on the way to her house when he told her to get out of the car, but she refused because she didn’t want to tote her groceries to the house on foot. Dawson told police she got upset and slapped her boyfriend in the head while he was driving and then he subsequently hit her back. The boyfriend told police that the Dawson had been drinking and became belligerent with him to the point where he asked her to get out of the car. According to the boyfriend, Dawson refused to get out and hit him in the head. He admitted to retaliating and continued to drive southbound in an attempt to drive to the ERPD police station. The report states that officers determined Dawson was the “primary aggressor” and she was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault. She was jailed on a $1,500 bond and is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Feb. 9.
_ 610 South Moore: Police were called to the address on a report of domestic violence on Jan. 19. According to an affidavit of complaint, the victim told officers she and her live-in boyfriend for over 12 years had gotten into a verbal argument over the victim’s teenage son. The report states that the argument was about the boy leaving food in the kitchen. The victim said her boyfriend, William B. Studebaker, 45, became aggressive, grabbed her by the arms and threw her over the living room table. The report states that Studebaker had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and admitted to the assault. Studebaker was charged with Domestic Assault and jailed on a $2,500 bond. He is due in city court on Feb. 9.
