Many of you received a mailer from my opponent yesterday that attacked me and contained many false narratives. Sadly, my opponent has resorted to negative campaigning to earn your vote. The type of mailer you received from my opponent is one you will not receive from my campaign.
I believe campaigns are about ideas and vision. I think voters benefit from a campaign that promotes what it can do for them rather than negative and false attacks.
Since the start of my campaign, I have focused on the issues that impact the citizens of District 8. My website (tuckermcclendon.com) defines where I stand on the issues for everyone to see. I wish my opponent put the same energy into sharing his ideas as he does into negative campaigning. If my opponent wants to talk about issues, I welcome a debate on the issues.
I respect Tim Boyd and the position he has held for many years. Tim has made it well known that he is no fan of mine over the years. Since the start of my campaign, he has made his attacks personal. He has dragged my fiance into his attacks with those attacks and has even gone as far as reaching out to my employer.
Just as I did in my School Board campaign nearly four years ago, I have promised to run a positive campaign and will continue to do that regardless of what my opponent or those that endorse him say about me. If keeping a positive campaign prevents me from winning this election, at least I will know I did it the right way.
