East Ridge Police Department is investigating an armed robbery Wednesday night at the Walgreens Pharmacy on Ringgold Road.
The suspect entered the store at 5301 Ringgold Rd. at approximately 10:45 PM and briefly milled around inside the store. Minutes later, police said the suspect made contact with the store clerk and discretely displayed a pistol which he concealed in his jacket pocket. A second clerk approached the register and the suspect removed the pistol and displayed it again.
Police said the suspect demanded money and to put everything in a plastic Walgreens bag. The suspect then fled, perhaps north on McBrien Road.
Police are searching for the suspect, a black male, last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, a black-colored facial covering, a pair of dark-gray-colored pants, and black-colored shoes.
A similar robbery happened on Dec. 28 at Burger King, records show. The suspect in that robbery also displayed a gun, had his face covered, and had cash stuffed into a bag. No arrest has been made.
