The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports” provided by the administration.
Oct. 18 Day Shift
6404 Ringgold Road (Violation OOP/kidnapping):
The manager of Burger King called and reported that one of her employees had shown up to work and told her that her boyfriend, Jamel Mathis, had been beating her. The manager stated the employee had a busted lip and had blood on her face. Records indicated a valid Order of Protection was in place showing the employee as the protected party. The manager stated a short time later Mathis arrived in the parking lot with another party. She stated Mathis grabbed the female employee and forced her into the back seat of the car. Witnesses stated the vehicle was seen heading towards Budgetel. Police arrived at Budgetel and was advised both parties had been seen, and Mathis was still beating the woman. Police were directed to the room. A wellbeing check was conducted, however there was no answer at the door after numerous attempts. Due to known circumstances at the time police made entry into the room and discovered the woman in the room alone. There was fresh blood in the apartment as well as on her shirt and pants with wet blood drops on the floor. She refused transport to a safe space and would not cooperate with police during questioning. Warrants for Violation of Order of Protection and kidnapping are being sought. Police were able to obtain a recording of the CCTV footage showing the abduction. (21-015168)
1453 Mack Smith Road (found property):
An employee with the Fairfield Inn reported finding several pieces of hobo trinkets, consisting of miscellaneous jewelry and credit and debit cards. The items were collected and placed into property and evidence for safekeeping. (21-015172)
309 Michelle Drive (auto theft):
The resident contacted police after discovering her rental car, a 2021 Chevy Equinox, had been stolen overnight. The car was located this afternoon by the North Carolina Highway Patrol in Whittier, NC where it was found wrecked and abandoned. (21-015165)
5700 Roper Street (narcotics):
An anonymous caller contacted ERPD about the odor of marijuana coming from one of the apartments. ERPD has received various calls about the odor. Officers have gone to the apartment and can detect a faint odor that cannot be determined to be coming from this apartment. The resident is hostile toward LEOs when they attempt to make contact. Crime Suppression was notified, and the caller was advised to contact management. (21-015178)
3500 Ringgold Road (suspicious persons):
The dental office at that location contacted ERPD about two homeless individuals sitting in their parking lot for extended periods of time. Police located the man and woman and had them leave the property. (21-015169)
6519 Ringgold Road (found property):
Hotel staff found a pistol in a room after the occupant checked out. The pistol was taken for safekeeping and placed into property and evidence. (21-15190)

Night Shift
3500 block Shelby Circle (Domestic Disorder21-015193):
Police responded to yet another disorder between Jason Mitchell and a female subject. Mitchell was taken into custody for domestic assault.
4214 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-015194):
Michael White was arrested on East Ridge warrants at Silverdale.
5908 Graston Ave (Assist Other Agency 21-015198):
Tadarrian Gore was wanted on multiple felony assault warrants through Hamilton County. Chattanooga Police had requested ERPD set a perimeter on this residence because Gore had been involved in in an aggravated domestic assault. Officers arrived and located the vehicle Gore had been driving during the incident in Chattanooga. Police attempted to make contact with Gore at the residence. As officers were readying a search warrant for the residence Gore ran out the rear of the house. A foot pursuit ensued but Gore was not captured. He was last seen traveling south across Welworth Avenue.
