New Record Set for COVID Patients in ICU

Hamilton County continues under the grip of COVID-19.

According to the Hamilton County Health Department, on Friday, Sept. 3, a new record was established with 84 people in area hospital Intensive Care Units, a jump of seven over Thursday. There were 331 people hospitalized.

On Friday, 296 new cases of COVID were reported, statistics showed. The total number of people who have contracted the virus since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 55,571. Four more deaths were reported on Friday, bringing the total number of people who have died to 565.

There have been 3,297 cases reported in East Ridge since the beginning of the pandemic. The current number of cases stood at 214.
