The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports” provided by the administration.

10/13/20 Day Shift

6407 Ringgold Road (Portofinos)- Alarm- Police responded to check the business. Upon arrival the building appeared secure.

4334 Ringgold Road (Regions Bank)- A window was found broken this morning. The reporting party advised the incident occurred sometime after 1300 hours on 10-11-20. While on scene officers located a yellow marble located in the flower bed in front of the broken window. There is no video of the incident.

5424 Marion Avenue- Theft- The complainant advised while she was mowing her yard, her lawn mower ran out of gas. She stated that she left her mower in the front yard and went into the garage to grab a gas can and blower. When she returned to the front yard, her lawn mower was gone. She did not see any suspects or suspect vehicles in the area. She advised her husband would be calling back in later with more information on the brand and model of the mower. There is no suspect information.

3715 Ringgold Road (Food City)- Suspicious Package- The caller advised of a suspicious suitcase sitting on the sidewalk in front of the business for two hours. On arrival officers observed the empty suitcase and threw it in the trash.

John Ross Road @ Cherokee Avenue- Suspicious Activity/People- The caller advised of a white male running while pushing a motorcycle. On arrival police spoke with the male and determined the motorcycle was his.

104 Windmere Drive- Theft- The caller advised an unknown suspect in a white Ford Focus Stole his Husky Chainsaw. The vehicle was last observed traveling toward Brookwood Drive. Police checked the area with nothing located.

323 Camp Jordan Parkway- Suspicious Activity- The caller advised of a Hispanic male in a tan car doing doughnuts in the gravel parking lot. Upon arrival the vehicle and driver were located. Officers spoke to the driver and found he was attempting to teach his daughter how to drive. No evidence of doughnuts was located.

6721 Ringgold Road (Family Dollar)- Shoplifting- Upon arrival police met with the Store Manager. She advised a white male partially consumed a can of Bud Light Clamato in the store.  The manager stated she confronted the male and he agreed to pay for alcoholic beverage but would not produce an identification card.  The manager stated the male then put down the can and left the store without paying for the partially consumed item. A short time later the suspect was identified as Jonathon Mosler and he admitted to drinking the beverage without paying for it. Mosler was issued a Citation in Lieu of Arrest for the charge of Theft of Property Conduct Involving Merchandise. Mosler was advised to leave the area and he complied. Mosler was also criminally trespassed from the Family Dollar on 6721 Ringgold Road at the request of the store manager.

Warrant Service- Nigel Winfield was served with an East Ridge warrant at 601.

10/13/2020 Night Shift

McBrien Rd @ Bennett Rd. / Traffic Stop: A traffic stop was conducted on a white Kia Forte for a speeding violation. The driver, Devonta Montgomery, was asked to exit the vehicle due to having possible warrants and a revoked driver’s license. While Montgomery was outside the vehicle with police, a passenger of the vehicle got into the driver’s seat and left the scene in the vehicle. Montgomery stated that the passenger was his juvenile cousin. The vehicle was not located, and Montgomery was transported to jail on Hamilton County warrants.

1318 Adonna Lane / Deceptive Practice:  The complainant reported that she received several phone calls today, one of which was a gentleman with a foreign accent claim to be a special agent with the Social Security Administration notifying her that her SSN had been compromised and she needed a new SSN issued.  He requested her old SSN and requested a bank account for $9000 that he was holding for her.  She realized that the call was a potential scam and did not provide any personal information to the unknown agent.  The complainant provided a list of six telephone numbers where she was called that were other potential scam numbers.

3600 Gleason / Shots Fired:  Police received a call for shots fired at this location but were unable to locate anything out of the ordinary.

3620 Gleason / Disorder Prevention:  Police were asked to do a stand by while the complainant collected her service dog from this location. When police attempted to contact the resident Jeffery Bowens, police were unable to get a response and refused to open the door to speak with officers. During the call it was determined that Bowens was unlawfully depriving the complainant of her property and a search warrant was obtained and served. The dog was returned to his rightful owner.

3320 Ringgold Rd. / Burglary Attempt-Vandalism: Officers responded to the address, Coin Laundry. Officers arrived on scene and met with an employee. The employee found damage to wood paneling on the wall and the latch on a dryer, in an apparent attempt to gain entry to the coins inside. At this time it is not believed that money was taken. Neither officers nor the employee were able to make contact with the actual owner to view video. 

302 Dunlap Ave./ Auto Theft: The complainant reported 2020 Nissan Versa stolen. She believed her daughter is the suspect. 3T5-8A1TN. The vehicle was entered into NCIC.
