On Sunday, East Ridge police arrested a Brainerd man who allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend last month.
According to an affidavit of complaint, Chelon Naquee Davis, 24, of Howell Road address, was jailed on charges of Aggravated Domestic Violence, False Imprisonment and Aggravated Burglary. He made a $15,000 bond and is due in East Ridge Municipal Court on January 12, 2021.
According to the police report from Sept. 17, Davis texted a message to the ex-girlfriend saying that he had left something for her under her door mat at her home on Germantown Circle. When the woman opened the door Davis was on the stoop and forced his way inside and locked the door behind him.
When the woman told Davis he needed to leave, she said he went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and said he was going to kill himself. According to the report, the woman grabbed her three-year-old child, ran into her bedroom and attempted to lock the door, but Davis forced his way inside.
The woman said she wrestled the knife from Davis’s hand at which time he came at her “in an aggressive manner” to make her talk to him. When the woman tried to get past Davis, according to the report, he pushed her down and struggled for possession of the knife. At that point, the woman told police that Davis pushed her into the wall and she was cut from broken glass from a picture hanging on the wall.
The report states that the woman ran to the front door to get out but Davis pushed her with her child in her arms to the ground and refused to allow her to leave. The woman told police that she and Davis had a brief discussion. She once again made an attempt to escape from the house and screamed from the front door for help. Davis then fled from the house.
_ Two Georgia residents were arrested Saturday night on drug charges after a traffic stop.
According to an affidavit of complaint, just before 11 p.m. an officer saw a Chevy 2-10 pickup traveling south on McBrien Road displaying expired tags with a male passenger who was not wearing his seat belt. When the officer spoke with the driver, Emmie Light, she said she forgot to have the registration renewed. The report states that the officer asked Light where she was coming from and she said “Chickamauga.” When the officer pointed out she was traveling south, Light changed her story and said she was coming from her rental property on Wando Drive in East Ridge.
The report states Light gave officers consent to search the vehicle. Police found a red container on the passenger’s half of the dash that contained a baggie with a white powdery substance, and a yellow bag with a green leafy substance inside.
Light and her male passenger, Robert Vincent Stoker, were read their Miranda rights, the report states. Light told police that the white powder was methamphetamine and that Stoker sold $30 worth to Light’s tenant. The report states that Light knew Stoker was selling narcotics. She told police that the pair were on their way to sell more meth to a person waiting for them at the Fort Oglethorpe Krystal.
Police seized 4.9 grams of meth, and 1.3 grams of marijuana, $443 in cash, and the pickup truck.
Stoker, 51, of a Rossville address, was jailed on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale and Possession of Marijuana.
Light, 63, of Chickamauga, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana.
Both have February 2021 dates in East Ridge Municipal Court.
