May 19 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports.

May 18 Day Shift

3900 Ringgold Road (warrant service):

Yisel Bernabe was arrested on an active Hamilton County warrant following a traffic stop at this location.

1313 Spring Creek Road (prowler):

This resident at this location has requested extra patrol after observing a white male on her porch at 0550 hours.

503 S. Seminole Drive (theft):

The resident ordered twenty ounces of silver through the mail, but the bullion never arrived. Silver.com requested he file a theft report locally.

Night Shift

1146 South Seminole Dr (unknown 911):

Police checked the area. Nothing located.

1410 Mack Smith Rd/ Budgetel (assault):

Female RP called in stating her husband punched her in the jaw. She would not give dispatch room number or any information. Dispatch had no previous information on the number she called in on. Nothing located.

5740 Ringgold Rd. (Warrant):

Misty M. Combs was arrested for active warrants out of Hamilton County. Warrants are being sought for possession of Meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

1410 Mack Smith Road:

Complainant called reporting hearing someone outside his room “licking” a gun. He played an audio recording, but it did not sound like a gun. Nothing was found on video.

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. Dick worked for the Chattanooga Free-Press and the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 22 years. Free-Press Sports Editor Roy Exum plucked him out of production in 1989 and gave him a job as a sports reporter. Dick covered everything from prep sports to the whitewater events on the Ocoee River for the 1996 Olympics. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
