The following information was compiled from reports provided by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.
April 16 – Day Shift
3207 Castle Avenue (theft):
Resident’s black 2015 Yamaha R3 was stolen sometime overnight. The motorcycle, bearing TN413ZL0, was entered into NCIC as stolen.
1600 block S. Smith Street (DOA):
A male subject was found deceased at a residence due to a possible heroin overdose. CID responded to the scene.
4401 Ringgold Road (passing worthless checks):
The owner of Mack’s Highway Mart reported cashing a bogus check from Jonathan Hatchett and Mary Adkins in the amount of $3,584. The owner also cashed a bogus check for Katie McCary in the amount of $425.

April 16 – Night Shift
941 Spring Creek Rd/ Parkridge East (Disorderly):
A male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was screaming, cussing and threatening to throw poop at the hospital staff.
814 S. Seminole Dr. (prowler):
Police were dispatched to this location regarding a male who appeared to be prowling around this house. Upon arrival, police made contact with the painter who had been hired by the owner of the resident to paint the garage.
3904 Ringgold Rd. (FI):
A field interview was conducted on Demetrice J., after receiving a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot of this address. Demetrice met the description of the suspicious person and was checked for warrants nothing was found. The man was taken to 23rd street in Chattanooga and dropped off per his request.
Cherokee Ave. (susp. person):
Police were dispatched to this location regarding 3 people, 2 females and a male, who were sitting on someone’s porch making noise. When the resident attempted to make contact, the parties ran away. Police search the area and were unable to locate.
Belvoir Ave. @ Ringgold Rd. (reckless driving):
Police attempted to stop a red chevy S-10 at this location. The vehicle had a generator and several other tools in the bed of the truck. The vehicle fled from police. Police did not pursue, and the vehicle was bolo’d.

April 17 – Day Shift
Harris Lane- Low Hanging Wires-
The street department was forced to put up road closed signs today as the bright yellow fire tape was not enough to stop motorists from passing under the wires. EPB is supposedly scheduled to repair the damages soon. The street department requested police check the area and put the signs to the side of the road when the repairs are made.
3657 Ringgold Road (Cascades Motel #10)-Suspicious Activity-
Complainant called to report his room had been burglarized. The complainant stated he left his room to meet a friend just after midnight and upon his return at approximately 0400 he found his room unlocked. The complainant stated he did not find anything missing in his room but wished to report the matter. Police did not observe any signs of forced entry on the door or windows to the room.
6710 Ringgold Road (Best Western)- Vehicle Burglary-
The complainant called to report a theft from a company vehicle parked in the lot overnight. Sometime between 2200 hours 4-16 and 0640 hours 4-17 an unknown suspect entered the vehicle and took several tools.
1313 Ridgefield Circle- Vehicle Burglary-
Upon arrival police spoke with the resident who said his vehicle had been broken into between April 11, 2020 at approximately 1400 hours, and April 17, 2020 at approximately 1230 hours. The victim stated he did not believe any of his belongings were missing from the vehicle and no damage to the vehicle was observed. However, there was a small bag found in the vehicle that did not belong to the victim and was not in the vehicle when it was parked. Inside the bag were keys to multiple other vehicles, yellow key tag, sim cards, and change. The items recovered in the vehicle were placed in property and evidence.
3300 Ringgold Road (Fabric Care Coin Laundry)- Suspicious Activity/Mental Health-
Police responded to an indecent exposure complaint at the business. Once on scene police located a black female walking outside of the laundry facility wearing a large trash bag as clothing. The female identified herself and stated that she lived in Chattanooga. She could not provide an address for her residence, and I determined she was homeless. While speaking with her, police determined she was a potential mental health consumer, but she did not appear to be a threat to herself or anyone else. She was released to continue washing her clothes.
3212 Blackhawk Trail- Dog Bite-
A Domino’s delivery driver called to report being bitten by a chihuahua at this address. Animal control responded and handled the call.

April 17 – Night Shift
1302 Spring Creek Road / Shots Fired:
Police responded to investigate shots fired and discovered the fireworks were shot off next to Spring Creek Elementary. No suspects were located.
1410 Mack Smith Road (Budgetel Inn) / Drug Overdose:
A man was found unconscious in the passenger seat of a four door sedan parked outside building 4. Police administered two doses of NARCAN. The man remained unconscious but had a strong pulse and labored breathing. EMS transported him to Parkridge East where he was treated and released within two hours. He took what appeared to be Xanax possibly laced with fentanyl based on witness accounts. The incident was entered into the Criminal Justice Portal.
4214 Ringgold Rd/ warrant service:
Selena Pineda was taken into custody for an active East Ridge Warrant for Identity theft, while at the East Ridge Police Department.
411 Alice Drive/Narcotics Complaint:
Caller reported a drug deal happening but did not want to talk with police. A check of the area did not locate anything.

April 18 – Day Shift
1000 Bass Pro Drive – BOLO SUSPICIOUS ACTVITY –
Bass Pro loss prevention advised police they had observed a suspicious vehicle on their lot near the front of the store several times over the past few nights. BOLO a White Chevrolet or GMC 4 door truck. Truck appears to have a white camper top over the bed (work style truck). The vehicle has been observed on the lot between 2300 -0000 and then returning sometime between 0300-0500. Nothing has been taken to date. Management and loss prevention just ask for extra patrol.
6116 Ringgold Road (J&J Food Mart)- Theft-
Police spoke with complainant via phone in reference to a theft at this location. The complainant stated he went inside the gas station to pay for gas, and when he returned to his vehicle, he noticed his Samsung Galaxy Tablet missing. The man stated he observed two white males in an unknown type of vehicle parked closed to his vehicle when he went inside the store but did not see anyone enter his vehicle.
5313 State Line Road- Burglary-
The resident called back in today regarding Billy Kendricks breaking into his residence again. The resident caught Kendricks on the floor the rear bedroom of the residence. Kendricks then fled on foot. Upon police arrival the suspect was not located. Warrants will be issued.
Later in the shift police were called to the 5300 blk of Bennett on a suspicious person. The subject described fit the description of Kendricks. Upon arrival in the area police searched the neighborhood and some of the woods. Kendricks was not located.
6710 Ringgold Road (Best Western)- Suspicious Activity-
The caller advised of an intoxicated white male in his underwear following her around the motel. Upon arrival police encountered Ricky Dent and Ashley H. Dent was somewhat uncooperative with officers. Ashley advised she would take him out of the motel and find him another place to stay. During the interaction Dent was validated as a member of the Outlaws.

April 18 – Night Shift
4340 Ringgold Rd (Pizza Hut)/ Fight call:
Police were called to this location in reference to an active fight. Upon arrival it was discovered a Pizza Hut employee was assaulted by an unidentified white male. The male left the scene in a silver Mercedes- Benz with registration number 3537BD2. It is currently unknown the registration’s state. The male was described as a white male in his early 40’s wearing a white shirt collared shirt with a black under shirt. There was a white female early 40’s wearing an orange shirt with the suspect attempting to stop the assault. The female left with the male last seen southbound on McBrien, before police arrival.
6674 Ringgold Rd. / Suspicious Activity:
Police contacted the occupants of a blue Chevy Trailblazer behind the Roadway Inn. When police were patrolling the area the observed the two occupants which appeared to be hiding from police. With recent car burglaries being a trend police spoke briefly with the two parties and ensured they had no warrants after which they were sent on their way.

5409 Marion Ave-
The complainant reported his 2012 Honda CBR (TN205MZ8) black in color, stolen from this address. Motorcycle was later recovered at the Motel 6 at 1417 St. Thomas St
1417 St Thomas St-
Billy Kendrick was taken into custody for ER warrants for Agg Burglary from yesterday’s burglary at 5313 Stateline Rd.
5900 Welworth Ave-
Anonymous caller reported parties in a white pick up were dumping items out of the truck into the wooded area. No one was located in the area.
5736 Ringgold Rd-
Lakada Hood was arrested on a Hamilton County warrant for Aggravated Assault, after officers received a call by a citizen that there was a strong odor of narcotics was coming from her vehicle on the lot of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. The passenger Terrance Careathers was issued a misdemeanor citation for narcotics.
1615 Springvale Rd-
While on routine patrol, officers encountered Tyler Garner in the wooded area by Springvale Park nude, and yelling obscenities at himself. Garner stated he was about to go for a swim in the creek and was camping in the wooded area. Garner was advised to put his clothes back on, and leave the area. Due to Garner being in close proximity to a residence warrants are pending for Garner for indecent exposure.

April 19 – Night Shift
6700 Ringgold Road (Quality Inn and Suites) / Theft:
A woman reported that while she was staying at the Quality Inn she invited Hyacinth Taylor to her room. He and his brother showed up, ate pizza with the victim, then left. She believes he took her room key at that time. A few hours elapsed, and then he returned while she slept, entered the room, and fondled her. She then told him to leave. Hyacinth then located her wallet, removed $400, and left.
