The Hamilton County Health Department released the latest information on the pandemic on Thursday.

According to the health department’s “hot spot” map, East Ridge recorded 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday bringing the total number of those who have been diagnosed with the virus to 82. With the additional cases, East Ridge’s 37412 zip code now has the second most cases in the county, lagging behind only East Lake.

There were 71 additional cases of COVID-19 reported on Thursday, the second-highest one day total. The total number of cases reported in the county now stands at 843. No new deaths were reported.

Thursday’s figures on testing showed 14,557 people have been tested for the virus. Those testing negative (13,714) had not been updated.

The number of people placed in quarantine as of Thursday rose by 48 to 602. There are now 27 people currently in hospital suffering from the virus, an uptick of six from Wednesday. Those in intensive care units remained unchanged at 13.

According to the health department, as of Thursday the total number of people who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and are now fully recovered stands at 427, an increase of eight over Wednesday.

The CDC has updated their COVID-19 high-risk groups by adding pregnant women and homeless individuals. The complete list of high-risk groups can be found on the CDC website. The Health Department’s Homeless Healthcare Center continues to provide essential services to the homeless during this time, while their Breastfeeding Support Program provides telephone support to breastfeeding mothers.
