Police Briefs for Feb. 27

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports.

Feb. 25 Day Shift

1508 Karwill Lane Apt. B (AOA):

Police assisted HCSO Civil Process while serving an eviction.

601 Walnut Street (warrant service):

Lisa Blake was served with an East Ridge alias capias for possession of controlled substance.

2001 Long Street (warrant service) :

Heather Morgan was taken into custody on an East Ridge alias capias for driving on revoked at this location.

3516 Mimbro Lane:

A male subject left his special needs group home residence for the second day in a row. He was located at Ace Hardware and was returned to his residence.

Night Shift

1400 Mack Smith Rd (arrest):

Stacey Ball arrested on Hamilton County warrant following a traffic stop.

1000 Bass Pro Dr (arrest):

Isaiah Buckles arrested after he attempted to buy a firearm from Bass Pro. During the background check TBI was alerted of multiple warrants out of Georgia. He was taken into custody on scene.

3800 Ringgold Rd (arrest):

Jason Cothran issued misdemeanor citation for driving on suspended following at traffic stop at this location.

4134 Ringgold Rd (Alarm):

Police responded to a back door motion alarm at Jenkins Restaurant. On scene, police found the main building secure but an exterior freezer unit was found to be unsecure. The locking mechanism was engaged on the freezer, but the door had not been fully closed. The alarm company and dispatch were unable to locate the responsible party for the restaurant. Unknown if anything was taken from the freezer unit.

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. Dick worked for the Chattanooga Free-Press and the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 22 years. Free-Press Sports Editor Roy Exum plucked him out of production in 1989 and gave him a job as a sports reporter. Dick covered everything from prep sports to the whitewater events on the Ocoee River for the 1996 Olympics. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
