Fire damaged a duplex on Germantown Road early Wednesday morning.
According to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, at 12:23 a.m. fire, police and EMS were dispatched to 610 S. Germantown Rd. on a reported residential fire.
Upon arrival crews reported heavy smoke and fire coming from a duplex. All occupants had self evacuated prior to our arrival.
Crews made an aggressive interior attack and contained the fire to one room. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross has been called to the scene to assist the occupants.
The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire departments fire investigation division.
