According to the bank manager, the women had already conducted transactions at several Regions banks in the Chattanooga area and in southeast TN and possibly Arkansas. Regions Bank provided ERPD screen shots of the suspects in the other thefts. The women showed their fake IDs to the teller and asked for a cash withdrawal of 5000 dollars on what is believed to be fake credit cards. The women then used a cell phone and had an unidentified person on the phone tell the teller they were with the credit card company and that person walked the teller through the process of making the computer validate the card artificially, thus allowing the bank to follow thru with the transaction. When confronted by police they said they were victims of trafficking and had been traveling with different men across the country making the withdrawals. They told police they had been dropped off by a black male in a white sedan nearby and given instructions about how to conduct the transactions. Both women were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Simulation and Conspiracy to Commit Theft over $1,000. Neither woman has been positively identified.
