East Ridge will have its annual Homecoming football game this Friday night at Raymond James Stadium.
The Pioneers will take on winless Sequoyah in a Region 4/4A contest. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
The weather forecast is calling for game-time temperatures to be in the 50s, so the Pioneer faithful may have an opportunity to pull out their orange and white sweatshirts.
East Ridge coach Tim James said earlier this week that he is encouraging all Pioneers and supporters of high school football to come out to the game. This year’s attendance, he said, has been down from years past.
“We’ve got a good football team,” James noted of his team with a 4-3 overall record and 2-1 in region play.
The Pioneers are coming off a 48-34 win over Central last week in which East Ridge had 525 yards of total offense. James said he appreciated the performance but was concerned over penalties his team accrued.
