The driver of a car that crashed, flipped on its top and caught fire escaped with minor injuries, early Saturday morning.
According to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, East Ridge fire and police were dispatched to the 5500 block of Ringgold Road at 12:39 a.m. on a vehicle crash.
When first responders arrived they found a car had struck a power pole, flipped on its top and was on fire. The driver had crawled out on his own prior to help arriving. Chief Williams said the driver suffered only minor injuries. The fire was quickly extinguished.
ERPD is investigating the cause of the accident.
