In anticipation of heavy construction beginning this fall on the I-75/I-24 interchange modification project, TDOT will hold a series of meetings to inform the public about what to expect as the project progresses. The meetings will be held during the last full week in September and will take place in East Ridge, East Brainerd and Brainerd.
The same presentation will be given at each meeting, so members of the public can choose the meeting that is most convenient for them to attend. Representatives from TDOT and the contractor will be present to provide information and answer questions.
Each of the meetings will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EDT with a presentation given at approximately 6:00 p.m. The dates and locations are as follows:
The East Ridge meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Community Center at City Hall on Tombras Avenue.
East Brainerd meeting – Monday, September 23, 2019/Concord Baptist Church/7025 East Brainerd Road.
Brainerd meeting – Thursday, September 26, 2019/Brainerd Crossroads (the BX)/4011 Austin Street
Additionally, the I-75/I-24 interchange modification project website now has a process for members of the public to sign up for project updates. A link and instructions are located on the main page of the project website and in the Public Involvement section of the website: https://www.tn.gov/tdot/projects/region-2/i-75-interchange-at-i-24.html.
In December 2018, TDOT awarded the contract for the I‑75/I‑24 interchange modification design-build project to C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. for $132,644,398.00. The winning design-build proposal will complete design and construction of this project in less than three years.
