East Hamilton downed East Ridge, 35-0, Friday night in a Region 2/4A high school football game at Larry Henry Field.
The loss leaves the Pioneers with a 1-2 record on the year. East Ridge will have an off week to prepare for a trip to Sequatchie County on Sept. 20.
Pioneer coach Tim James told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that the Hurricanes (2-1, 1-0) “were a better team tonight.” He said that East Ridge would “rally and correct the mistakes we made.”
Some of those mistakes James referred to were the Pioneers racking up eight penalties for 78 yards.
The Pioneers rushed the ball 41 times for 215 yards. Jalen Boykin led East Ridge with seven rushes for 99 yards.
