Even though East Ridge is well below .500 in the win column this year, several players are playing well above average.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press high school baseball statistics, Isaac King, just a freshman, and senior Justin Tiller are in great form for the Pioneers.
With a 2 and 4 record, King is leading the prep statistics with 51 strikeouts. He boasts a 2.998 ERA. And his stellar play is not confined to the mound. King is also among the best in stolen bases, recording 13 on the year.
Tiller is sporting a .425 batting average, with 17 hits in 45 at-bats. He’s got two homers and 12 RBI.
Coach Craig Murley had some good things to say about both young men.
“They both come every day ready to complete at a high level no matter who we are playing or what the circumstances are,” Murley said.
