The following information was furnished by the East Ridge Police Department from “pass along” reports from Thursday, April 11 to Sunday, April 14.
6514 Ringgold Road:
A call was received from the manager at Mapco regarding found property. The manager advised a woman left a set of keys on the counter. On the key ring was a small pouch that contained some pills and approximately 1.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Police took possession of the keys and pouch containing the probable illegal substances and obtained a description of the female that left the items.
6642 Ringgold Road:
Management at the Rodeway Inn called to advise police of three tenants. The identities of the tenants are unknown. Management said the tenants, two (2) men and one (1) woman, took several items from the room before leaving. Criminal prosecution was declined by management. They advised they would handle the issue through civil process.
2159 Dugan Street:
An unknown 911 call was received by dispatch. The same phone number was used to dial 911 earlier in the day from an area around East Ridge Middle School. The source of the emergency call could not be located.
4222 Ringgold Road:
A report was received of a shoplifter from the Speedway convenience store. Management declined to prosecute should the juvenile suspect be located. A short time later, police located the suspected shoplifter. The juvenile was given a criminal trespass warning for the Speedway and the stepfather of the juvenile was notified of the incident.
808 Poindexter Avenue:
An alarm was activated at this residence. The residence was checked by police and found to be secure.
5337 Ringgold Road:
The caller stated that a man was sleeping near the trash cans. The caller advised that upon waking the man he proceeded to urinate onto the building. Officers encountered Kenneth Adams and transported him to the Mission homeless shelter. The manager of the H&R Block refused to criminally trespass Mr. Adams.
April 11 – Night Shift
5319 Ringgold Road:
Kenneth McElreath was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Mr. McElreath was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license.
6712 Ringgold Road:
Police were dispatched to the Public Storage regarding a U-Haul cutting the corner too short and striking the D building. The roof of the building was damaged.
601 Walnut Avenue:
Kayla Tinker was served with an active East Ridge warrant at 601 Walnut Street.
6514 Ringgold Road:
An employee of the Mapco called and advised that the male subject that assaulted her previously with a beer can was inside the store. Police responded but the man was gone upon arrival of police.
1409 Altamaha Street:
Police were dispatched regarding a theft of a laptop. It was determined that the theft occurred in Georgia. The reporting party was advised to contact the agency with proper jurisdiction.
5900 block of Saint James Avenue:
Police were dispatched to this area regarding a man riding a bicycle “fast” down the road. Police were unable to locate the bicyclist.
500 South Seminole Drive:
A large diesel spill was reported in the area. Police were unable to locate the spill.
1223-A John Ross Road:
Neighbors of this address called in and said a man and woman were in the backyard arguing. Upon arrival of police, the man had already left the scene and the woman advised the disorder was verbal only and no assault had taken place.
4150 Monroe Street:
Police were called to check the well being of a woman in the parking lot of the Walmart Neighborhood Market. The woman was said to possibly be intoxicated. Upon arrival, police encountered Regina Brewster, who was found to be in possession of 3.1 grams of methamphetamine. Ms. Brewster was taken into custody.
730 Germantown Circle:
Police responded to apartment 101 after receiving a report of a disorder. Once on scene, police discovered that Anthony Taylor had forced his way into Tammy Leonard’s apartment by grabbing her neck and shoving her to the ground. Mr. Taylor was taken into custody.
809 Poindexter Avenue:
Police were dispatched to this address after the landlord and the tenant began arguing. The landlord stated that the tenant was threatening him and refused to move out. The landlord was advised by police to follow the eviction process. The tenant stated that the landlord was harassing him about moving out. The tenant was advised to contact police if any further arguments/disorders occur. The landlord and tenant were advised to stay away from each other.
4321 Ringgold Road:
Thomas Hall was issued a criminal trespass warning requested by Shelia Lively after he refused to leave the establishment.
April 12 – Day Shift
1507 Karwill Lane:
Police received a call from Robert Ricketts in apartment C. Mr. Ricketts called for police while high on methamphetamine. He threatened people at the address with a large stick prior to police arrival. Mr. Ricketts was arrested for domestic assault and assault after a Taser was deployed on him while he resisted arrest. Mr. Rickets was taken to the hospital to be checked and then transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
4150 Monroe Street:
The smell of marijuana resulted in the recovery of a stolen firearm and the arrest of Corey Morgan for theft and possession of marijuana. Rykiedra Finley and a juvenile were both issued misdemeanor citations for possession of marijuana.
730 Germantown Circle:
Police responded to apartment 918 and stood by to maintain the peace while a resident gathered his belongings to leave.
1517 Tombras Avenue:
Michael Harding was arrested at the courthouse for an active East Ridge failure to appear warrant.
4214 Ringgold Road:
James Bonnie was arrested at the jail on an active East Ridge warrant for driving on a revoked license.
April 12 – Night Shift
1000 Spring Creek Road:
A call was received about a man walking down the road with a rifle concealed in his jacket. Police located the man and quickly determined that he was carrying an umbrella with a hoodie wrapped around it.
932 Spring Creek Road:
A reporting party stated that a dog was barking in the woods and sounded like it was in distress. East Ridge Animal Services personnel responded to the area but were unable to hear a dog barking. The reported dog was not located.
1615 Glowmont Street:
A caller stated that his neighbor was out of town, but someone was inside his neighbor’s residence. Police responded to the location and found the residence to be secure.
1503 McDonald Road:
An anonymous party stated that she heard a male voice yelling outside her room and it was followed by two (2) gunshots. Police responded to the scene and spoke with several people in the area. No other persons heard an argument or gunshots.
728 Frawley Road:
Brandon Morris was arrested on suspicion of DUI. During a search following arrest, MDMA and another potential controlled substance was found in his possession. A passenger in the vehicle, Michael Evans, was also taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance.
1100 Spring Creek Road:
Police were dispatched to Spring Creek Elementary regarding a child that hadn’t been picked up by his parents. Police contacted the child’s mother at their residence. The child was picked up from the school shortly thereafter.
3715 Connelly Lane:
The reporting party stated that a cream-colored vehicle drove slowly and parked inn front of the house across the street. The reporting party told police that the person in the car waited for her to go inside before he got out of his car and walked up the street. Police were unable to locate the party in question.
April 13 – Day Shift
6981 Tiffany Lane:
Police assisted the Collegedale Police Department with the arrest of Daniel Hall for a domestic assault that occurred in their jurisdiction.
5517 Ringgold Road:
Jonathan Moore was issued a criminal trespass warning from the Suds and Shine Laundromat at the request of the owner. Mr. Moore was observed asleep under one of the tables.
950 Spring Creek Road:
Police responded to this address with the East Ridge Fire Department regarding a small fire in a garbage can.
482 McBrien Road:
Police responded to the At Home store parking lot after receiving information about a road rage incident. It was reported that a woman brandished a silver firearm at the reporting party. Upon speaking with the complainant, it was determined that the incident occurred on I-24 in Chattanooga. The reported suspect was located inside the store. Due to the location of the reported offense, the Chattanooga Police Department was requested to respond to the scene. Any further action taken by the Chattanooga Police Department is unknown at this time.
Prigmore Road / Clemons Road:
A call was received about a seven (7) or eight (8) year old child walking alone. Police were unable to locate the child.
April 13 – Night Shift
3900 block Ringgold Road:
Minerva Moreno was issued a misdemeanor citation for driving on a revoked license.
408 Broughton Street:
A call of a suspicious vehicle was received. Police were unable to locate the described vehicle.
3423 Shadowlawn Drive:
Police were dispatched to this address regarding a resident walking around in what appeared to be a manic state while having an open pocket knife in his back pocket. The reporting party told police that the resident, Allen Beck, had previously been talking to himself and stated that the police were watching him from up the street. The reporting party, as well as other residents, told police they feared Mr. Beck due to his behavior inside the home. Police contacted Allen Beck. Mr. Beck seemed to be very paranoid when speaking with officers. Police located an open pocket knife in his back pocket. :
1410 Mack Smith Road:
Police responded to a disorder in building 4 at the Budgetel Inn. Police located Ronald Radford yelling and chasing Ruth Randolph down a flight of stairs. Police detained Mr. Radford. Mr. Radford’s sister, Lola Raines, came forward and stated that Mr. Radford had assaulted both her and Ms. Randolph. Mr. Radford was charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault.
April 14 – Day Shift
728 Frawley Road:
A man reported that sometime after 8:00 pm on April 13 and 8:00 am on April 14 an unknown subject entered his vehicle by unknown means and stole his identification, debit and credit cards, and $100.00 cash.
1601 Prater Road:
William Ortwein with the East Ridge United Methodist Church reported that someone had cut the catalytic converters off both the church transport vans. Mr. Ortwein advised the incident occurred sometime between March 24th and March 31st.
807 Merrimac Circle:
Police responded to this address after receiving a call about a gray car that had been parked in front of this residence. Upon approach to the car a strong odor of marijuana was detected. Frederick Douglass was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana. Sierra Crutcher, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested for an active East Ridge warrant.
3309 Gleason Circle:
A large tree fell on Terry Cuzzort’s home and caused substantial damage. Adam Cuzzort and his girlfriend were removed from the structure. East Ridge Code Enforcement personnel condemned the structure.
April 14 – Night Shift
1142 South Seminole Drive:
Police were dispatched to this address regarding a burglar alarm. The home was checked and was secure.
3106 Mosely Circle:
Police responded to a report of a missing child. The child had gone into a nearby wooded area buthad returned home prior to the arrival of police on scene.
3309 Gleason Circle:
Police received a call from a female subject that wanted to go inside her home. A tree had fallen on this home and the house was condemned by ER Code Enforcement personnel. The caller was advised to speak with the East Ridge Code Enforcement personnel on Monday.
6514 Ringgold Road:
A call was received regarding a disorder at the Mapco convenience store. The disorder was reportedly between a man and a woman. Once on scene, police located the couple and identified them as Dustin White and Heather Allen. Mr. White and Ms. Allen both stated that they had been arguing. They both advised the incident was verbal in nature and no assault had occurred. Ms. Allen had an active warrant out of East Ridge and was arrested.
941 Spring Creek Road:
An emergency room nurse at Parkridge East Hospital advised that a man entered the emergency room with an injury consistent with a potential assault. Police spoke with the male party, who advised that he fell out of bed while staying at the Econo Lodge. Approximately one-hour later, police responded to an unconscious party at the Waffle House. Police encountered a woman at this location that was breathing, but unconscious in her vehicle. EMS broke out the car window and transported the woman to Parkridge East Hospital. At the hospital, the medical staff found that the woman had signs of a concussion and trauma to her face consistent with an assault. She also showed signs of alcohol in her system. The woman then told police that she and the man (previously encountered by police at the hospital) have a child together and he assaulted her earlier at the Econo Lodge in room 212. The woman was not completely coherent while speaking with police due to her medical condition and possibly the effects of the alcohol. As a result, police advised the woman to come to the police station after she sobered up and was released form the hospital and provide a statement to police. She agreed to do so.
