_ 2831 Camp Jordan Parkway: On Sept. 30, U.S. Marshals, Chattanooga Police and Georgia Patrol Officers went to the Motel 6 to locate Ricky Lee Whitmore, a fugitive from the state of Georgia. According to a police report, the room was rented in Whitmore’s name. Law enforcement officers were initially denied entry into the room, but the door was eventually opened by a woman. Whitmore, who was on the bed in the room, was taken into custody. The report states that Whitmore, because of his parole status, was subject to search. The report states that officers found a pack of cigarettes on the night stand containing four packages of suspected methamphetamine. A gray bag behind the nightstand was discovered by officers and it contained six additional bags of meth, syringes, a glass pipe, 20 grams of suspected marijuana and digital scales. Total weight of seized meth was 39.5 grams, the report states. Whitmore denied any knowledge of the narcotics in the room, but later told officers that the woman had brought the drugs into the motel room. Whitmore was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Simple Possession of Marijuana. He is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Oct. 6.
_ 3609 Ringgold Rd.: Police were dispatched to the Family Dollar on a shoplifting call on Oct. 1. According to a police report, upon arrival the manager told officers that a white male in a red shirt and dark pants had been in the store taking security tags off of shorts in the clothing isle. The manager told officers that she confronted the man, who was using a red handled lock back razor knife to take the tags off the merchandise, and he brandished the “knife” as he walked away. The manager told the suspect that she was calling the cops and he pulled the box cutter out again and opened the blade while walking around the store entrance. The report states that the suspect was seen on surveillance video “slightly swinging his arms around with the box cutter in his hand.” The suspect, later identified as Matthew Tyrone Sisson of a Benton Pike address in Cleveland, was found at the Cascades Motel. The report states Sisson had changed clothes which were found in a shopping cart with his other belongings. Sisson was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Shoplifting and possession of tools to interfere with anti-theft security devices. He is due to appear in Municipal Court on Oct. 27.
_ 6911 Martha Ave.: Police were dispatched to the address on Sept. 28 on a narcotics complaint. According to a police report, dispatch told officers that a party had handed over an item to another party in a silver vehicle and the car was still on the scene. The report states that in the past 48 hours, police had received numerous narcotics complaints at this address. On arrival, officers found the silver 2008 Scion XD in the roadway with four people inside. The driver told officers that they were looking for a motel room, despite being on a dead end street. A female passenger, Kristin Hart, told officers that she had an outstanding warrant against her for narcotics and she was subsequently arrested. Hart told officers there were drugs in her purse and police found Roxycodone and a methamphetamine pipe in her belongings in the vehicle. The report states that officers removed the other three occupants from the car. A white male, later identified as Brady Sweeten of a McBrien Road address in East Ridge, got out of the back seat and dropped a baggie at his feet containing 3.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Police also found a loaded pistol under the front seat where Sweeten had his feet. The report states the firearm was verified as having been reported stolen out of Chattanooga. Police also found a box of ammunition and multiple baggies used for packaging narcotics inside the car. Sweeten also had a digital scale in his right front pocket. Sweeten was charged with Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Theft under $500 and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
