East Ridge police are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting that happened on a dead end street off John Ross Road.
According to Hamilton County 911, officers were called to 3600 Shirl Jo Drive at 4:39 p.m. on a “person shot” call.
Assistant Chief Stan Allen said a 17-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to the face. The juvenile was taken to Erlanger Medical Center.
Chief Allen said that officers are speaking with witnesses and the investigation is in its early stages.
East Ridge News Online spoke with one man who lived on the street, and he said the shooting happened in a second-story unit at the top of the hill on the dead end street. The man said that a woman was “keeping the guy breathing” prior to the arrival of emergency medical personnel.
“She’s the real hero here,” he said.
