East Ridge police officers had some tense moments on Sunday as they assisted Chattanooga police in taking a wanted man into custody at the Budgetel Inn.
According to a department “pass along” report, ERPD was called to 1410 N. Mack Smith Road after a CPD officer was conducting surveillance on room 4312 in regard to a man by the name of Jordan Roberts. Roberts had an active warrant out of Chattanooga on an Aggravated Robbery charge. ERPD officers accompanied the CPD officer to the room. When officers knocked on the door and told the person inside that they were “maintenance,” a man opened the door and quickly shut it once he recognized police.
According to the report, once the man went back inside the room, “officers heard a rifle being charged.” Officers took cover behind a doorway and advised dispatch of the situation and the need for more officers. The report states that CPD Detective Troncone identified the subject as Roberts and confirmed the active warrant. Contact was established by phone to Roberts. Officers told the man that they did not want to hurt him and he should surrender. Roberts agreed and both he and his girlfriend exited the room. The two were taken into custody.
According to a booking report from the Hamilton County Jail, Roberts, 19, of an Ooltewah address, was booked into the jail on Monday on a single charge of Aggravated Robbery. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and is due to appear in Judge Gary Starnes General Sessions courtroom on Feb. 20.
_ 631 Marlboro Ave.: Police responded to the address on Tuesday in regard to a disorder. According to a police report, when officer arrived they determined that a man had been physically assaulted by Nicole Lesavoy. During the assault Lesavoy allegedly used a “stun gun” in an attempt to further the assault on the man. When police attempted to take Lesavoy into custody she became extremely combative with officers. The report states that during transport to the Hamilton County Jail, police had to stop to apply a “hobble restraint” to the woman after she attempted to kick the windows out of the police cruiser. The report states that Lesavoy was charged with Aggravated Assault and Resisting Arrest.
_ 3657 Ringgold Rd.: Joshua Eastwood, 32, of a Mack Smith Road address in Rossville, was arrested Monday at the Cascades motel and charged with Domestic Assault. According to a police report, Eastwood tracked his girlfriend down at the motel to confront her about cheating on him. Eastwood allegedly shoved the victim and placed his hands around her throat.
_ 1410 N. Mack Smith Rd.: Police were called to the Budgetel on Saturday in regard to found property. According to a police report, management at the extended stay motel found a small amount of drugs in room 1316 and contacted police. Management told police that an unidentified white female had gotten into the room with the help of a security guard and had left the room unoccupied. The report states that police located drugs, believed to be methamphetamine, and subsequently found more dope in a bag. The report states that police contacted a man who admitted staying in the room with a woman known only as “Monday.” The man was told to get out of the room and the drugs were seized and placed into property and evidence.
_ 6710 Ringgold Rd.: Police responded to the Best Western Motel at this address on Saturday in regard to a burglary. According to a police report, management reported the theft of a TV from a guest room that took place about 7 p.m. on Friday night. Security video captured two white males enter the room and run out with a 36-inch television. While investigating this incident police were told that two other TVs were stolen last Tuesday between 4 and 6 a.m. Video showed a single white male entering the corridor and going into a room and stealing the televisions. The report states that both thefts took place in the same corridor near an exit.
