_ 5517 Ringgold Rd.: Police responded to the coin-operated laundry at this address, Monday evening in regard to a car theft. According to a police report, an officer spoke with a man who said that a white male drove off in his uncle’s 2004 Ford Crown Victoria while he was checking on his clothes inside the business. The victim said that he had briefly gone inside the facility and left the vehicle running in the parking lot. The report states that a witness inside the laundromat told the officer that he saw the victim walk into the facility while a man wearing a dark hoodie walked out, got into the Ford and drove off. The witness said the suspect had been sitting in the far corner of the business for more than an hour prior to the incident. The suspect is described as a man in his 30’s, about 5-foot, 7-inches tall, medium build with brown hair and an unshaven face. The vehicle was entered into a law enforcement data base as stolen.
_ 3918 Ringgold Rd.: Police were dispatched to the Stop and Save on Monday evening in regard to a burglar alarm. According to a police report, when officers arrived they noticed the glass on the front door to the business was damaged. Officer entered the unlocked front door and found nobody inside. The owner arrived on the scene, quickly checked the store and told police that about 35 boxes of cigarettes had been taken. The report states that police reviewed surveillance video which showed a Ford Taurus driving into the door and forcing it open. A male suspect got out of the car with an empty bin and went behind the counter where he piled multiple boxes of cigarettes into the bin. The suspect left the business got back in the Ford and drove away.
_ 601 Walnut St.: On Tuesday night, Eric Goble was arrested at the Hamilton County Jail on three active warrants through East Ridge. Those warrants were for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Theft over $2,500. Hamilton County Jail booking reports states that 34-year-old Goble resides at an Artie Lane address in Rossville, Georgia.
_ 1000 S. Seminole Dr.: On Tuesday night, Marcus Moore was taken into custody by East Ridge police on an outstanding warrant near the tunnels on Ringgold Road, after he had “an encounter with police,” according to a department “pass along” report. A check of Hamilton County Jail booking records shows that Moore was booked “for previous charges or other reasons.”
_ 1441 N. Smith Rd.: On Tuesday evening police were called to the lobby of the Holiday Inn at this address in regard to an unattended child. According to a police “pass along” report, when an officer arrived he spoke with the front desk clerk who said she tried to talk to the “very young” boy but he refused to speak. According to the report, an officer was able to get the 11-year-old boy to tell him that he lived in the Alton Park area of Chattanooga. The boy said he left home because his stepfather was hitting him in his back and face. The boy told the officer that he “caught a ride from a stranger” who dropped him off at the Holiday Inn. The report states the boy was taken to the Police and Services Center where Chattanooga police responded and took him back home.
