The following information is from East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports from January 17-21.
_ 6401 Ringgold Rd.: On Monday evening, police were flagged down by the manager of McDonald’s who advised there was a man and woman behind the establishment who were causing a disturbance. Contact was made with a man, and a woman identified as Robin Smith. The pair told officers that they were involved in a verbal disorder which never became physical. Smith gave consent to search her car where police discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia. According to Hamilton County Jail booking reports, Smith, 31, of a Ringgold, Ga. address, was charged with Sell/Manufacture/Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
_ 5401 Marion Ave.: On Monday, officers arrested Jamar Hayes for possession of 24 grams of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm. The arrest was made following a verbal disorder with his girlfriend.
_ 3701 Larry Ln: Police were called to the address on Sunday on a car theft. The caller reported that his 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen sometime between 1 and 8 a.m. that morning. The owner of the car told officers that he normally leaves the spare key inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into a law enforcement data base as stolen. No suspect information.
_ 1706 Keeble St.: On Sunday a passerby called police after seeing a man holding a gun sitting in an Oldsmobile Bravada parked in front of Sonny’s Market. Contact was made with the man inside the car who told officers that he had a BB gun and he was in the process of inspecting it as he had just bought it from a friend. The man was told by an officer not to inspect BB guns while parked in front of a business. The man was checked for wants and warrants and allowed to leave.
_ 116 Margaretta Ln.: On Sunday police were called to the address on a reported burglary. The homeowner told police that someone had entered his home overnight while he was gone. The rear door of the house was found ajar and various items throughout the house had been moved or knocked over. The homeowner also found his dog locked inside the bathroom. Nothing was taken and there were no signs of forced entry. Investigators were called to the location.
_ 175 Cecil Ln.: Police responded to the address on Sunday in reference to a domestic dispute. When police arrived, the male suspect had already fled. Police spoke with the female victim who said that the couple had been arguing all morning. At some point prior to calling police, the victim said the suspect started picking up various objects and breaking them by throwing them. Police saw numerous broken items strewn around the house. The victim sustained a small cut on her hairline as a result of a framed picture shattering on a wall near where she was standing. The victim refused treatment by EMS. According to the victim, the suspect, Paul Taylor, threatened to kill her if something happened to his kids. Warrants will be sought for Taylor for Domestic Assault.
_ 1612 Waterhouse St.: Police went to the address on Sunday in regard to a theft. The victim said a package was stolen from his doorstep sometime on Thursday, Jan. 17. He said the package contained a white gold wedding ring valued at $700.
_ 1130 Chippewah Dr.: Police went to the address on Jan. 17 in regard to a shots fired call. Police spoke with a woman who admitted firing her gun into the air to let possible criminals know she had a gun. It was determined that she is 441 (police code for mentally disturbed). A .9 mm pistol was taken for safekeeping.
_ 3811 Altamira Dr.: Police went to the address on Thursday in regard to theft from a vehicle. Person(s) unknown entered two vehicles in the driveway stealing wallets, rings and other items.
_ 1803 John Ross Rd.: On Thursday police responded to the address on a suspicious vehicle. A blue Chrysler pulled into the driveway, sat for a few minutes, then left. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle caught on video assisting people breaking into cars a few weeks ago. Shortly after this call, police received the call on Altimira relating to car burglaries.
