_ 3718 Fountain Ave.: Police were dispatched to a reported burglary at the address late Tuesday morning. According to a police report, police met with a woman who said that someone broke into her duplex and stole a 50-inch television, its remote units and an iPhone charger. The victim told police that she came home at 11:30 a.m. and found her front door partially open and the television missing from her bedroom. The victim told officers that she stayed overnight at a family member’s house the previous evening, so the time frame of the break-in could be a 24-hour period. The report states that police found pry marks around the door knob consistent with a pry tool being used to gain access. Investigators were called to the scene to collect potential fingerprint evidence. Police were unable to locate a witness to the burglary.
According to the report, the victim told police that she recently had an argument over money in a civil dispute with a white male she knows only as “The Russian.” The victim told officers that she did not know the man’s true name but described him as being 5-foot, 7-inches tall with dark hair, with the sides of his head shaved. The victim said “The Russian” felt that she owed him money for a recent vehicle repair. The report notes there is no physical evidence to link the male party to the burglary.
_ 4015 Patton Edwards Dr.: On Monday evening police responded to a complaint of and abandoned vehicle at the address. According to a police report, officers met with the property owner who said she stopped by the house at 4 p.m. and found a gray Honda Odyssey van sitting in the backyard. Police went to the backyard and found a van with damage to the front end and passenger side door. The report states that the vehicle apparently went through the backyard of several homes with tracks originating at 1306 Darlene Circle. The report states that it appeared the van tried to climb an embankment and got stuck in some mud. The reports states that police ran the tags on the van and it came back to a man residing in Hixson. The report states that dispatch notified ERPD officers that the van had been involved in a police pursuit in Marion County at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday. Police checked the van and found paperwork and personal items belonging to a 50-year-old man know to frequent the Marion County area. The report states that officers also discovered that the van was associated with another incident in Chattanooga that happened at 3 p.m. on Monday on South Terrace. The van was towed to an impound lot. The report states that officers could find no one in the area who may have witnessed the incident.
_ 4016 South Terrace: On Jan. 3 police were dispatched to a robbery from person at this address. According to a police report, officers spoke with a man who said that he was standing in his garage and a black male ran into the garage with what appeared to be a black gun. The victim said that the suspect attempted to get him outside by grabbing onto his sweater at which point the suspect stated, “come on.” The suspect then hit the victim in the head with the gun while they were near a step. The report states that the victim then told police that the suspect pulled him towards the outside of the garage while he resisted. The suspect hit the victim in the head a second time as the victim tried to pull himself up the stairs to the house. At this point near the top of the stairs, the victim said he saw a second suspect also armed with a handgun appear outside the garage. The victim told police he was able to get inside his apartment and lock the door. The report states the victim immediately called police and did not see the suspects leave. The report states that the victim suffered lacerations to the top of his head.
According to the report, while police were still on the scene, the victim’s girlfriend showed up at the apartment. She immediately left to get pizza while police were there. It was noted in the report that her behavior “seemed strange to police considering the incident that had just occurred to her boyfriend.”
One suspect is described as missing an upper front tooth. He is about 6-feet tall with a slim build. The victim told police that he possibly recognized the suspect from a gas station earlier this year, but did not elaborate. The second suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, about 5-feet, 8-inches in height and wearing a black and red T-shirt.
