_ 3600 block Larry Ln.: On Monday evening an ERPD officer spotted a motorcycle traveling north on Germantown Road turn onto Larry Lane. According to an affidavit of complaint, the bike did not display a tag. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Larry Land in the driveway of a residence. Once stopped, the rider jumped off the bike and gave every indication he was going to run. The report states the officer got out of his cruiser and drew his taser. The driver, later identified as Steven Dewayne Hart, tried to ge back on the bike then jumped off. The report states that Hart reached into his right pocket and the officer gave multiple commands for Hart to remove his hand from his pocket, which he refused. The officer fired the taser striking Hart in the chest. The report states Hart went to the ground and was handcuffed by the officer. Hart told police that he had marijuana in his right front pocket. The report states that police found twp bags of reefer in his pocket. Cops found two more bags of pot and scales in a backpack that Hart had with him. Hart, 37, of an Arbor Place Lane address in Chattanooga, was arrested and charged with Drugs General Category for Resale and Resisting Arrest.
_ 6674 Ringgold Rd.: Early Saturday evening an East Ridge officer was patrolling the parking lot of the Roadway Inn when he saw a man and a woman sitting in an older model BMW with its doors open. Once the couple saw that the officer was turning around in his cruiser, the man and woman began to exit the vehicle. According to an affidavit of complaint, when the cop got out of his cruiser, the man began to walk away with a white bag in his hand. The officer states in the report that the couple left the car with the doors wide open. When the officer asked the man for a word, the man took off on foot between the Roadway Inn and the Quality Inn toward the LaQuinta Inn. After backup arrived, the man was found hiding in bushes where he was detained. The man was identified as Brandon Qualls, 29, of a Ringgold, Ga. address. Qualls told police that he had syringes in his pocket. The report states that Qualls was searched and officers found two Adderall pills and a pair of brass knuckles on his person. Qualls was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Resisting Stop, Frisk,Halt and Arrest.
_ 4232 Greenbriar Rd.: Police were dispatched to the address, Friday evening, in reference to a delayed assault. According to an affidavit of complaint, an officer spoke with a woman who told him that at 1 a.m. on the same day she and her boyfriend, Delano Hughley, had been in a disorder that became physical. The woman said she and Hughley were on the porch when an argument began. The woman said she left the porch and went to the bathroom in the home where Hughley followed. She tried to get past him but he restrained her. She stated she got past him and went into the bedroom. The woman told police that Hughley forced his way into the bedroom. He flung the door open shattering a mirror. According to the report, the woman said she took off to the living room and Hughley followed, picking up a pistol in the kitchen of the home that he took out of a holster. The report states that officers saw bruising on the woman’s face, side, both arms and back. Police spoke with Hughley by phone and he told a different account. Hughley told police that the couple did argue on the porch and that he did follow her through the house. Hughley said that he was trying to keep the woman from leaving the residence because she had been drinking and didn’t want her to drive drunk. Hughley denied putting his hands on the woman in any attempt to harm her. Hughley told police that the woman, in fact, had assaulted him. The report states there was no evidence of an assault on Hughley. Hughley, 35, of a Shenandoah Drive address in Chattanooga, was charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault and False Imprisonment.
