NASHVILLE – Over 90 newly certified law enforcement officers, including one from the East Ridge Police Department, are scheduled to graduate from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) at 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 during a ceremony to be held at Al Menah Shrine Temple (1354 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN).
“Choosing a career in law enforcement takes dedication and a willingness to serve others,” said TLETA Director Brian Grisham. “Over 21,000 officers have completed the rigorous Basic Police School at TLETA since 1966. I congratulate the students of Class 1840 for finishing this rigorous course, and I wish them the best as they go forth to serve and protect Tennessee communities.
ERPD Assistant Chief Stan Allen said Tuesday afternoon that East Ridge has one officer, Andrew Carter, who will be receiving his diploma from Basic Police School.
TLETA’s Basic Police School course provides technical and tactical expertise in addition to the ethical and professional standards of law enforcement necessary for success. The newly certified officers will join thousands of law enforcement officers who have studied at TLETA during its more than 50-year history.

Hamblen County Sherriff Esco R. Jarnagin will be the graduation speaker.
The next Basic Police School class begins July 8, 2018.
