East Ridge downed McMinn County, 4-2, Friday in day one of the Cleveland Invitational soccer tournament.
Rijad Kazic scored twice and Adam Adem and Luis Padilla each scored a goal. Bryan Alonzo was credited with two assists and Erik Lopez go one. Goalie Darian Smith had two saves for the Pioneers, who with the win stretches its record on the year to 6-0-1.
East Ridge had eight shots compared to six by McMinn County.
The Pioneers will continue play in the tournament on Saturday, facing Lincoln County at the Cleveland Soccer Complex at 10 a.m., and Signal Mountain at the Boyd Buchanan campus at 3 p.m.
