_ 857 Belvoir Crest Dr.: Police responded to the address on Monday on a burglary in progress call. According to a police report, when officers arrived they found an open door with damage to the residence. The house was cleared by officers and nobody was located inside. The property owner was contacted and came to the house. He reported that items had been taken from his storage room in the carport area, including a red, Craftsman’s toolbox with hand tools inside, a drill, two axes and a shovel. The report states that the victim said that a Dell laptop and a Mac Pro along with a coin change holder had been taken from inside the house.
The report states that the homeowner had a security camera installed at the house that was pointed at the door which was forced open. In reviewing the video, a white male in a dark coat wearing a cowboy hat can be seen forcing the door open and entering the house. The man is seen a short time later leaving the house with the items mentioned above.
Detectives responded to the house in an effort to gather evidence. The victim was told to provide police with serial numbers from any items taken to assist in the investigation.
_ 6006 Ringgold Rd.: On the morning of New Year’s Day, police responded to the Party Mart in reference to property damage. According to a police report, when an officer arrived he spoke with the owner of the business who said that sometime between 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 8:47 a.m. Monday someone had thrown a brick through the glass door of the business. When the officer entered the store he noticed a brick that was laying in a pile of glass inside. The report states that the officer also noticed possible blood drops on the floor. The owner said that he did not notice anything missing from the business at this time. The owner also told police that surveillance cameras were not working at this time and his alarm company told him that personnel there were never alerted to the glass breaking. Investigators responded to collect evidence. The owner was told to call police if he can provide additional information. The case was assigned to a detective.
_ 1606 Heather St.: Police were called to the address on Monday in reference to a burglary. According to a police report, an officer spoke with the victim who said that someone had crawled through a broken window in the rear of the house and went through her bedroom tossing all of her belongings. The woman told police the only thing taken was $900 cash from a sock drawer. The report states that when an officer went in to assess the scene, nothing looked out of place. The woman told the officer that she had already cleaned up the mess and began fixing the broken window. Investigators did not respond to the incident due to the crime scene being contaminated.
