Several East Ridge families have been displaced from their apartments after a fire in the predawn hours of Christmas Eve.
Firefighters were called to 1105 Sewanee Drive after midnight. When they arrived on the scene they found a fire in the electrical breaker panel box of one apartment, said Fire Chief Mike Williams. No injuries were reported.
Two of the apartments in the eight-unit complex are without power, he said. The other six apartments were not affected by the fire.
The Red Cross has been called in to assist one of the families’ affected by the fire, Chief Williams said.
