_ 5700 Roper St.: Police were dispatched to the address on Saturday morning in reference to an assault in progress. According to an affidavit of complaint, officers arrived at the apartment complex and could hear a disorder from the parking lot. Officers made contact with a woman by the name of Barbara Price, who was sitting on the steps of the apartment suffering from a bleeding bottom lip. Police spoke with her live-in boyfriend, Cedric Weaver, who was standing in the door of the apartment. The report states that Weaver told police that he had pushed Price down and hit her.
According to the report, “upon further investigation and speaking to the parties it was found that the assault was mutual. Price told one officer that during the fight she punched Weaver in the face and back of the head out of “rage” and not self defense. Both Weaver and Price were subsequently arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on the charge of Domestic Assault. Both are due to appear in municipal court on Nov. 21.
_ 800 block of South Germantown Rd.: An officer on patrol in the area spotted a silver Infiniti with dark tinted windows traveling south on the road. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the car pulled over in the 3500 block of Mimbro Lane.
According to an affidavit of complaint, the car was occupied by three men, including one in the back seat that the officer didn’t realize was there due to the window tint. The officer spoke with the driver about the tinted windows and issued him a citation. A check of the other passengers, revealed an outstanding warrant on one of them, Devin Mott, out of Red Bank. Mott was detained on the warrant and officers asked for and received permission from the driver of the car to search the vehicle.
The report states that police found a small heart-shaped tin in the front passenger door close to where Mott was seated. Inside the tin was a cut straw and a plastic bag containing a clear crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. A set of digital scales was discovered in the glove box. The report states that Mott told police that the narcotics and paraphernalia belonged to her.
According to the report, officers also discovered a Cobra semi-automatic .380 handgun in the back seat of the vehicle. The gun had been stuffed behind an armrest. The report states that it was fully loaded with a round in the chamber. The backseat passenger claimed possession of the gun and he was written a citation for Possession of a Firearm with Intent to go Armed.
Mott, 27, of a North Main Street address in Lafayette, was booked in the jail on charges of Possession of Schedule II Drugs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is due to appear in municipal court on Nov. 7.
_ 857 Belvoir Crest Dr.: Police were recently dispatched to the address in regard to an open door. According to a police report, officers spoke with the resident who said the rear door to her home was open but nobody was at home. Police cleared the residence and found the rear bedroom had been ransacked. The only item the resident found missing was a four-foot tall jewelry box containing costume jewelry. The rear door to the house, the report states, had been forced open with a pry bar. Investigators were called to the house to process it for evidence. There are currently no known suspects.
