_ 4214 Bennett Rd.: Police were called to the address last week in regard to a disorder with a weapon. According to a police report, dispatchers advised police the reporting party said that her mother was chasing her around with a hammer. The caller had locked herself in a room. When officers arrived they spoke with Angela Estill and her daughter, who were both inside a bedroom. According to the report, officers took Estill outside and read her Miranda warning.
Estill told police that she had gotten into an argument with her daughter over her husband’s missing debit card. Estill said they argued and that her daughter came at her with “balled up fists,” so Estill grabbed a hammer and slammed it on the counter. At that point, Estill said, her daughter took sanctuary in her room. Estill said she followed her daughter into the room and continued to ask about the debit card.
According to the report, the daughter’s account of the incident is different. The daughter told police that she was asleep in her room and was awakened by her mother pacing the house, yelling and throwing things. When she went out to see what was going on, her mother confronted her about a debit card, of which she knew nothing. According to the daughter, her mother remained agitated and continued throwing objects inside the house. She grabbed a hammer, slammed it on the counter and said, “I’m going to knock you in the head,” the daughter told police. The daughter told police she went to her room at that point, and police arrived shortly thereafter.
According to the report, when police were speaking with Estill she couldn’t sit still and her pupils were constricted. Police asked the woman if she were high on meth, to which she answered in the negative.
Police found Estill’s wallet and asked if they could search it for the husband’s missing debit card. Consent to look through the wallet was granted, and police found the husband’s debit card along with a straw that appeared to have methamphetamine residue on it, the report states. Estill admitted to police that she snorts meth but the straw was not hers, the report states.
Estill/aka Angela Goins, 47, was charged with Domestic Aggravated Assault and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
_ 700 South Moore Rd.: Police responded to the address on Monday afternoon on a reported burglary. According to a police report, officers spoke with a man who said that someone had come through the back door of his house and took his 48-inch flat-screen television valued at $400 that was mounted on the wall of his living room. The victim told police that was the only item taken even though there were multiple high-dollar items in the vicinity of the TV, including a $4,000 bicycle and an $800 Yeti cooler.
According to the report, officers noticed three shattered glass panels on the back French doors. The gate on the fence enclosing the backyard was wide open. Police spoke with neighbors, who told them they did not see anything suspicious at the house. Investigators combed the scene for evidence. There is no suspect information at this time, the report states.
