Last week East Ridge police were called to the Roadway Inn on Ringgold Road on a reported theft.
According to a police report, officers spoke with a man staying at the motel who told them that he heard some “loud noises” in the room next door at 2 a.m. in the morning. The man told police that he took it upon himself to go and investigate. The report states the man was invited into the room by two prostitutes who were hanging out there. According to the report, the victim said he called one of the women back over to his room for “some entertainment,” and when he woke up he realized his Kel-Tec .32 caliber firearm was gone. The victim told police that possibly the unknown woman of the evening, relieved him of the pistol.
Police have several leads they may follow. The victim said that one of the women was hanging around a gold Kia and provided law enforcement with the car’s tag number. Police also potentially have registration information from the room from which the “loud noise” emanated that began the entire incident.
_ 5700 Roper St.: Police were called to the address recently on a disorder call. According to a police report, officers spoke with a woman who said that she had gone to an adjacent apartment to retrieve money she was owed. The woman explained to police that about a month ago, her neighbor’s dog bit her dentures while they were out of her mouth, causing damage to the oral device. She explained that the dog’s owner had a verbal agreement with her to pay on a monthly basis for the damage to the dentures.
The report states that the woman went over on this night and was invited into the apartment. When she asked for the monthly payment, the resident grabbed her by the foot and removed her from the apartment. She also said that the resident’s girlfriend hit her in the face.
The report states that the woman showed no sign of being struck in the face. However, the woman pulled down her pants to show officers a bruise on her upper thigh. The report states that the bruised appeared to be old. The woman then told officers that she didn’t exactly know how she received the bruise.
Police spoke with the neighbor and owner of the dog that allegedly had damaged the woman’s dentures. He told officers a different story.
According to the report, the neighbor said the woman with the damaged dentures began beating on his door and that his sister answered it. Upon opening the door the woman attempted to make entry yelling that she wanted her money for the dentures. The door was eventually shut, however the woman with the damaged dentures who wanted payment continued to beat on the door.
The neighbor told police that he came to to the door and the woman continued to berate him. The neighbor said that in an attempt to get the woman off his property he grabbed her by the foot and pulled her away from the door.
The report states that officers advised the neighbor to call police if she came to the door again. Officers told the woman not to return to her neighbor’s door seeking payment. In regard to the dentures, police advised the woman to take the matter to civil court.
